General Description
In this semester, we will continue to develop literary discussion skills by reading the latter part of Wizard of Oz, watching the movie, and learning the vocabulary of how to describe literature in English. Students who continue from first semester will take on the role of guides or mentors, teaching new students about the first semester vocabulary content, All students will use the new vocabulary to describe books, movies, manga etc that they have read/watched. The final project is to make a presentation (with a partner) of 10 minutes about a book, movie, manga, anime, writer, etc.
Goals and Objectives
Students can read an English novel and understand the associated movie. Students can summarize, describe and discuss the story of book and movie. Students can express themes in literature. Students can compare literature, noting differences and similarities. Students can participate in group activity in English, and present a description of a significant literary work of their choice.
